Safety at ORBT

How we try to keep this good, and what to do when it isn't.

ORBT puts you at a table with people you haven't met. That's the whole point, and it's also why safety isn't an afterthought here. This page is what we do, what we ask of you, and how to reach us when something goes wrong.

Before you go

While you're there

What we expect of everyone

These aren't suggestions. Breaking them can get an account suspended.

Reporting someone

In the app you can report a member from a chat, from a group chat, or from your crew. Reports go to a real person on our team. The person you report is not told who reported them.

Reporting and blocking are separate. Reporting tells us; blocking stops them contacting you and keeps you out of each other's future groups. You can do either, or both.

You can also email us directly at hello@orbt.social. If you'd rather not use the app for it, that's completely fine.

What happens after a report

A person on our team reviews it. Depending on what we find, we may warn the member, remove them from upcoming groups, suspend their account, or remove them permanently. We look at whether there's a pattern across reports, not just the single incident.

We won't always be able to tell you the outcome — sharing what we did to another member's account isn't ours to share — but we will always read what you send us.

If you're in danger

Contact your local emergency services first. In the US and Canada that's 911. We're not an emergency service and we can't respond in real time. Tell us afterwards so we can act on the account.
